Seaham Public School is part of the Port Stephens group of schools and is an active member of the Hunter River Learning community. The school is close to the Williams River and surrounding flora and fauna that stretches from the magnificent waterways to the green expansive playground. The P&C funded stream garden is the centerpiece of playground where children can access covered handball courts, basketball and netball courts, sitting areas and large grassed areas for games. Seaham has a current enrolment of 158 students and services a growing local community in a beautiful part of Port Stephens. Seven classes are taught by an enthusiastic, committed and experienced staff in a technology rich environment.

Parents are active in their children's learning and are encouraged to participate and assist in classroom learning. Many engage through an energetic P&C and support the school through various fundraisers and initiatives. The school acknowledges the Worimi people with 10% of students identifying as Aboriginal. An active Learning Support Team assists teachers in differentiating the curriculum to cater for all learners. Seaham Public School is a Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) school with a focus on creating responsible and respectful Learners. Through community PBL we enjoy a strong alliance with local businesses and support community initiatives whenever we can.

At Seaham Public School there is a focus explicit teaching and data driven practices. This involves an integrated approach to quality teaching, curriculum planning and assessment and a commitment by teachers to identify, understand and implement the most effective explicit teaching strategies. Professional learning for teachers will embed a school culture that is strongly focused on lifelong learning, developing leadership qualities and aspirations and a strong culture of continuous growth and development. Seeing an uplift in student numeracy results is a focus of this plan and will be achieved by increasing teacher collaboration, professional learning and using student data more efficiently to inform teaching and learning.
