Canteen

Seaham Public School Canteen operatesfor lunches three days per week and for recess two days per week.

The canteen is solely reliant on volunteers to operate for the benefit of the school and the children.

Profits made from the canteen assist the P&C Association to provide funding for school resources and equipment. 

 

Canteen schedule:

Monday - Open 1st break (lunch & snacks)

Wednesday - Open 1st break (lunch & snacks)

Friday – Open 1st lunch break (lunch & snacks)

Tuesday and Thursday – Break 2 only - snacks, drinks & cold treats available. No lunch orders.

Place your order at the canteen using a lunch bag. Lunch order, name and class marked clearly on bag and money inside, if change is required it will be placed in bag with lunch order. 

Reusable Lunch Order Bags: The reusable lunch order bags are now available for purchase from the school office for $10.50. Colours available include pink, purple, blue, green & yellow.

 A description of each role is listed below.

 

President:

The president has the responsibility to oversee the running of the canteen and ensure the fair participation of all members.  The president is also required to ensure that updates are regularly provided to the P&C and approval is sought for any changes.  The president runs the monthly meetings and is expected to exercise control over the meeting.

 

Secretary:

The secretary is required to attend all meetings and take notes of the discussions in order to produce a set of minutes for distribution.

 

Treasurer:

The treasurer is responsible for the financial management of the committee.  The treasurer receives and deposits monies, maintains records, draws cheques and presents accounts in the form of a report each meeting.  The treasurer must be available for banking deposits on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and is responsible for obtaining an external financial audit on all canteen treasury records to be completed by the AGM - December each year.  A background in basic accounting is helpful but not required.

 

Ordering:

The buyer is responsible for checking the stock levels in the canteen on a weekly basis and ordering stock replentishments and purchasing basic grocery items from the supermarket.

The buyer is also responsible for checking any new items meet the Fresh Tastes NSW Health School Canteen Guidelines before they are added to the canteens available items.

 

Roster :

The roster clerk is responsible for the preparation and distribution of the canteen roster each term.
