Scholastic Bookclub
Seaham School partners with Scholastic Australia to offer a bookclub to students. All bookclub orders earn our school bonus points that can be used to purchase additional books and resources for classrooms and the library.
We hand out two issues of catalogues each term with an occasional ‘specials' issue also. Ordering is easy:
- simply fill out the order form on the back of each catalogue
- place in an envelope with payment (cash, cheque or fill out the credit slip on the order form).
- ensure your child's name, class and order total is written on the order form and also on the envelope
- hand in at the office by the date stamped on the catalogue.
The books usually take two to three weeks to come back and, once sorted, are distributed to each child's class. If you prefer you can pick up your order personally from the office, please indicate this on the top of your order form.
Please note cheque payments can take some weeks to be processed.
Our involvement in bookclub earns the school dollars in reward points from catalogue sales through the year where we are able to purchase library and classroom resources, including:
- Premier's Readers Challenge book packs for the library
- chess books for the library to support the school's chess program
- classroom gifts in book week, and
- book stall raffle prizes to promote reading.
